Plan Description

The 8-Week Preseason Big Mountain Freeride Plan from Mountain Training Center is designed for skiers and snowboarders who want to step into the season ready to charge big lines with confidence. Focused on strength, power, and resilience, this program prepares you for the physical demands of steep descents, technical terrain, and long days in the mountains—building a foundation that carries you straight into mid-season form.

Sample Week

  • Rest Day
  • Warm Up: Wall Sit, Air Squat, Worlds Greatest Stretch, Quad Pull + Reach, Heel Raises, Single Leg Airplane, and Lateral Lunge Rock
  • Muscular Endurance: Lateral Pushback Lunges & Pulse Lunges
  • Power Endurance Circuit: Squat Jump, Switch Jump, and Lateral Transition Jumps
  • Core/Mobility: Side Plank, Front Plank + Knee to Elbow, Reverse Crunch, 90:90 Heel Taps, Elevated Pigeon Stretch
  • Active recovery, light movement
  • Warm Up: Wall Sit, Air Squat, Worlds Greatest Stretch, Quad Pull + Reach, Heel Raises, Single Leg Airplane, and Lateral Lunge Rock
  • Muscular Endurance: Lateral Pushback Lunges & Pulse Lunges

With our training plans, you get access for life. This means that you can use the training plan for as many cycles as you wish, year after year.

This varies between plans but it is often recommended that you have access to a gym.

Of course! Plenty of our athletes live nowhere near mountains. We make a point of giving a variety of training options in each of our plans.
