Jason Martin

Jason D. Martin is the Executive Director of the American Alpine Institute (AAI) and a cornerstone of the global climbing community. With over two decades of experience guiding from the North Cascades, to the Red Rocks of Southern Nevada, to the Sierra and  the Andes, Jason has evolved from a master guide into a premier educator. As a prolific author of technical manuals and guidebooks, he has dedicated his career to refining mountain safety and technical precision for climbers of all levels.

Under Jason’s leadership, AAI remains the "Gold Standard" in mountain education. The Institute focuses on transforming students into independent, competent alpinists through rigorous instruction and a commitment to environmental stewardship. Whether overseeing elite guide training or technical expeditions, Jason ensures AAI maintains its reputation as the world’s most comprehensive climbing school.
