Who would have thought a guy from Iowa would own a company called Mountain Training Center? 

I grew up on the banks of the Mississippi and found inspiration for climbing and skiing through National Geographic magazines. When I turned eighteen, I headed out west in pursuit of my dream to become an action sports photographer. Alongside attending the University of Colorado for a degree in Environmental Science, I began to shoot climbing, trail running, and skiing for brands like Patagonia, Arc'teryx, and Red Bull.

In 2020, after the pandemic shattered the freelancing world, I switched into a career as a mountain guide. I found ample work and opportunities out in Salt Lake City and honed my craft in the Central Wasatch. A few years in an I had gained my ski guiding certification. This experience guiding is what drove me to initally create Mountain Training Center.

In 2024, I hopped out of full-time guiding to begin working in the public sector while running MTC on the side. At present, I work as a Communications Director for a local government agency focused on public land access and conservation in the Central Wasatch.
